Clearing Mist

Waking up to the end of winter after a night in this dreamy old hunting castle. Here is the magical view from our window.

Layers of mist hide shades of evergreens, and sleeping trees with bare branches. I step outside and catch the sight of my breath in this cold. The past week, there hung a cloud over my heart, but it is clearing now, and the sun is shining ever so slightly. I hear whispers of hope, little rays of love which tell me I’m not alone on this journey.

My youngest boy is walking around, peeking out of our bedroom curtains. The other is snuggled under thick blankets. He reaches out a warm arm. I lie back down, close my eyes and want to savor this moment. All is right with the world.
