For one person, perfection is eight hours on the beach, lolling in the sun, with nothing more strenuous to do than get through the latest Oprah’s Book Club selection. To the next person, that’s 28,800 seconds of unmitigated hell—boring, wasteful hours better spent exercising or adventuring. Usually, these two people are married to each other.

I laughed out loud reading that first paragraph–it describes the way I often travel with my active husband. Wanting to lounge around on the white sand beaches, while his idea of a good vacation is swimming to the next island. Somehow, we seem to meet in the middle. (“How about we kayak the three hours there instead of swim?”)
Marriage is the adventure in itself, and a tough one, too.
